Nature shows us that true growth takes both grounding and momentum. Roots & Waves offers a safe space to nurture personal, social, emotional, and academic well-being. By fostering self-compassion, we help individuals build the deep roots needed to care for themselves, their community, and the natural world.

Our goal is to create a lasting ripple effect of care for ourselves, one another, and the planet.
Meet Our Founder - Lexi
Founder, Director, Qualified Teacher & Forest School Leader Lexi spent over ten years working as a primary school teacher in mainstream education. During this time, she saw first-hand how many children struggled under rigid, standardised expectations. Realising that every child learns differently, she shifted her focus to tailored 1:1 support for students who found standard classrooms overwhelming. After years of travelling, Lexi witnessed how much the natural world teaches us academically, personally, socially and emotionally. Combining her outdoor passion with creative teaching, she qualified as a Forest School Leader. She now focuses her expertise on emotional regulation, confidence building, and resilience. Lexi supports home-educated (EHE) students, neurodivergent (SEND) learners, and children accessing daytime alternative provision. Using nature as a calm backdrop, she helps young people rebuild self-worth and learn at their own pace. Alongside her work with children, Lexi integrates mindfulness and meditation into her practice. She is currently training in Forest Bathing, expanding her practice to offer adults a grounding, safe space to slow down and reconnect with nature.
